Medical City Healthcare Partnering With the Dallas Stars
Under the terms of the new partnership, Medical City Frisco will manage the orthopedic healthcare needs of the Stars players, both on and off the ice. The prevention, evaluation, and treatment of injuries will be conducted by doctors at the Frisco hospital. One of them, Dr. William Robertson, a physician on the medical staff at Medical City Frisco, will continue in his role as the Stars’ head team physician. Robertson, a former Ivy League football player at Brown University, has served as head team physician with the Stars since the 2012-2013 NHL season.
How Do I Know If My Son Has Good Pitching Mechanics?
The best way to assess your pitcher’s mechanics is to get side view and back view videotape of the athlete. Many studies have been done on baseball pitching mechanics and hundreds of mechanical variables have been explored, but trying to correct too many points at once creates too much confusion in the athlete. Texas Metroplex Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics Center for Sport and Motion Analysis suggests three basic points to assess as you watch videotape of a pitcher.
Oregon State's Rasmussen plans to overcome injury
Rasmussen and his parents, Mark and Kim, also researched the names and resumes of the top orthopedic surgeons in the country. They chose Dr. Keith Meister of Arlington, Texas, who serves as the head team physician with the Texas Rangers.

As an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Robertson helped train the next generation of Orthopedic Surgeons at both UTSW and Parkland Hospitals. There, he received teaching awards by the UT Southwestern Orthopedic Residents on two separate occasions.

Left-hander Christian Friedrich is headed to Dallas for an elbow scope, putting an end to a lost season. Dr. Keith Meister will perform the procedure after Friedrich was unable to extend through his slider in his latest attempt to push through season-long discomfort.
Chi Chi Gonzalez to have Tommy John surgery after setback
Team physician Dr. Keith Meister will perform the surgery next week, Daniels said. The procedure typically requires pitchers to miss 14 months, which means Gonzalez wouldn’t return to action until September 2018.

LSU and pitcher Eric Walker received the worst possible news Thursday when they found out Walker will need Tommy John surgery, requiring him to miss the 2018 season. Walker will have the surgery next Wednesday near his Arlington, Texas, home. It will be performed by Keith Meister, the head physician of the Texas Rangers.
