My daughter plays college softball, and she started to develop pain in her throwing shoulder. The trainer set up an appointment for an MRI and a consultation with an Orthopedic doctor. That doctor looked at the MRI, said she had a torn labrum, and recommended surgery. We decided to make an appointment with Dr. Hendawi to have him examine her, look at her MRI, and have him do the surgery if needed. I am SO glad that we did. After examining her shoulder, he determined that she has Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and NOT a torn labrum. He gave her an injection, a prescription for an anti-inflammatory, and recommended physical therapy. It took just a few days, and she was already feeling relief. It's been about two weeks since our first visit with Dr. Hendawi, and she says her shoulder hasn't felt this good in a long time. She can actually sleep at night without the pain waking her up. She will continue to do some PT and will begin her throwing program this week. It honestly could not have gone better. Everyone at TMI has been great. Thank goodness we sought out Dr. Hendawi, or her career would likely be over. I could not recommend him highly enough.

I am a 65 year old very active male. Dr. Tariq Hendawi performed a bicep tenodesis and a rotator cuff repair on me on 27 January 2021. Six weeks after surgery I was able to do my usual Tai Chi routine. My physical therapists where amazed. So thank you very much Dr. Hendawi and staff.

My daughter was running hurdles at a middle school track meet and fell and broke her elbow and had no movement and severe pain. She was a nervous wreck. We were recommended to hurry and go to TMI Sports Med by a neighbor and we are so glad we did!! Dr. Hendawi was very gentle and caring and was able to examine and treat her quickly. Thank Dr. Tariq Hendawi who make my life much better. On Jan. 23rd 2020, I accidently fell and broke my left knee cap. Praise the Lord our God who led me to meet Dr. Tariq Hendawi. With his professional and great skill, he performed the surgery on Jan 30th 2020 with great successfully. The recovery process was extremely fast and I almost back to normal in less than 3 months. Every day when I walk up and down stairway, I praise the Lord who leads me to meet Dr. Tariq Hendawi. I fell and broke my knee cap. I was in pain, even a slight bend of my knee will cause a tremendous pain. After the first visit, Dr. Tariq Hendawi explained to me that the lower part of my knee cap was shattered and could not be used to connect to the upper part. He had to remove it and connect the tendon directly to the upper part. He set up surgery schedule as soon as possible because he knew that I was in pain. Dr. Tariq Hendawi and his assistant (Mr. Daniel Segura) are very personal and thorough attention. I loved how he explained everything to me so I could fully understand. After the surgery I only needed to take pain medicine for two days. The recovery process was extremely fast, all follow up appointments have been great and he is open to all my questions and concerns. Dr. Tariq Hendawi is a great physician. I’ve been treated very well at TMI Sport Medicine Center in Arlington.

I made an appointment with Dr. Hendawi at TMI for left shoulder pain to determine the cause since I'm 78 and have had osteoarthritis of the joints for a few years. The waiing time was very reasonable especially since they were busy, I was quickly processed for X-rays and soon saw Dr. Hendawi. He is VERY courteous, definitely interested in his patients, and LISTENS! There was never a sense of "must finish with this patient and get to the next" as occurs with many physicians. His patient "bedside manner" is spectacular. He informed me that the images showed no meaningful loss of cartilage in the shoulder joint and that a steroid injection into the bursa pouch should help alleviate my pain. The injection was completely painless and took only 30 seconds or so; it was literally over before I knew it. The shoulder was truly feeling better by the time I checked out and I was delighted to know that I could continue working out in the gym, which I love!. He is also very well educated, a skilled and experienced surgeon in joint replacements, and associated with numerous of the best hospitals, institutes, and teams in the Metroplex. Thank you Dr. Hendawi for your attention and skills!

I recently underwent a knee scope and meniscectomy with Dr. Hendawi, and the overall experience was smooth from start to finish. He provided clear explanations about the procedure, answered my questions thoroughly, and ensured I understood what to expect throughout the process. His surgical work and professionalism gave me confidence at every step. A huge part of what made my care feel so supported was the ongoing support from his team, particularly Physician Assistant Haley Girard. She guided me through nonsurgical options, follow-up appointments, and recovery with patience, responsiveness, and a personable approach that made a real difference. Her thorough attention and support helped me navigate the process with confidence and ease. I’m grateful for the quality of care I received and would recommend this team for anyone needing orthopedic treatment or surgery.

I blew my UCL on Feb. 5, and it took us a while to get a diagnosis. We had someone tell us about TMI, and we were able to get into see Dr. Hendawi and have surgery within 2 weeks. The entire process from the initial visit to my final visit a year later was as great of an experience as one could ask for as a player. I am one year post op, and I am already within 3-4 mph of my original velo with NO PAIN. I chose Dr. Hendawi because he offers the TJ hybrid option, and I wanted to make sure my UCL was a strong as possible to come back. He used a graft from my hamstring to do the repair. Post op care has been wonderful. Haley, his PA, is top notch, and she is quick to help with anything I needed like letters for a medical redshirt or questions about incisions, etc. Their PT Zach also worked with my hometown PT Craig to make sure we followed the TMI recovery plan. I couldn't have asked for a better team to help me get back on the mound.

Dr. Tariq Hendawi did an excellent job with my knee surgery. He took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. The surgery went smoothly, and my recovery has been going very well. His professionalism, skill, and genuine care really stood out. I’m very grateful for the outcome and would absolutely recommend him to anyone needing knee surgery.

Our son is a pitcher, and he tore his UCL in February of his freshman year of college. It took a little while to determine his diagnosis and to find the doctor who would work best for us, but once we contacted TMI Sports Medicine, Tanner was able to get an appointment, plan of action, and have surgery within 2 weeks. As a parent, insurance was also important to us, and even though we were from out of state, TMI got it all handled and approved even faster than the doctor we saw in our home state!!! We chose Dr. Hendawi because he offers more than just the traditional Tommy John surgery with the hybrid version which we believed would provide the best long term strength for his return to the mound. From start to finish, Dr. Hendawi, Haley (his PA), and Zach (TMI’s PT) took amazing care for our son. He was released yesterday to start his pitching return, and he is already throwing within 3-4 mph of his original velocity. He doesn’t have any pain. We would chose Dr. Hendawi and the team at TMI Sports Medicine again if we had any other issues for anyone in our family!!!!

If I ever have any other orthopedic issues, I would definitely go back. The surgery process was explained clearly and with no “overly confident” information, but straight forward. Even my recovery time was explained thoughtfully and it was much appreciated. I am pleased by the results and my right knee is, too!

Excellent experience with surgery considering it was our first. Fantastic referral from our HS trainer. Dr. Hendawi was very thorough and explained every step of the surgery. Now we are headed to PT hoping for a fast recovery and getting back on the diamond.

Dr. Hendawi is an excellent surgeon. We travel from San Antonio to see him because he is that good!! Our 14 year old son will be able to return to baseball after recovery because of Dr. Hebdawi’s expertise. Our family is forever grateful we found him and this practice.

Dr. Hendawi was thorough, caring and professional. He is extremely kind, and compassionate. He listened to my concerns and then took time to explain his answers to my questions. I never felt rushed and feel like he really cares about me, not just as a patient, but also my well-being. I would highly recommend Dr Hendawi.
