Tariq Hendawi, MD
Tariq Hendawi M.D. is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with advanced training in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine. He was fellowship trained in Sports Medicine by world-renowned Dr. James R. Andrews at the Andrews Institute in Gulf Breeze, Fla. He was a team physician for Auburn University and also cared for many NFL and MLB athletes as part of his fellowship training.
Dr. Hendawi completed his Residency training at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, where he was trained by the team physicians of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans. He graduated at the top of his undergraduate class receiving the Cum Laude recognition from Louisiana State University. He excelled to the top of his medical school class at LSU School of Medicine, being inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.
Dr. Hendawi joined the staff of TMI Sports Medicine and Orthopedics in 2019 where he joined his mentor Keith Meister MD. His specialty includes injuries of the shoulder, elbow and knee and he has a special interest in injuries in the overhead throwing athlete. He joined the Texas Rangers in 2019 and continues to be in integral part in the health and well-being of these athletes at all levels.
